Data Privacy Notice

Magsaysay Learning Resources, Inc. (MLRI) respects your personal data privacy rights and is committed to ensuring that your personal data is collected, processed, and protected in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

Upon your registration and in the course of your training, we will collect your personal data, including your full name, date and place of birth, address, contact number, email address, ID photo, Seafarer’s Identification and Record Book (SIRB)/ Seafarer’s Record Book (SRB)/ Seafarer’s Identification Document (SID) number and pertinent contents, relevant medical certificates, and emergency contact details.

Your personal information will be processed for the purposes of training delivery and administration, issuance of certifications, payments and accounting, and complying with the reporting requirements and other regulations of the Maritime Industry Authority as well as other applicable laws and rules.

Your emergency contact details will be used when necessary to protect your interests, including your life and health, during an emergency. Unless you withhold or withdraw your consent, your contact details may be used from time to time to inform you of our course offerings and other matters that we believe may be of interest to you.

Your Registration Form shall be retained for two (2) years. The Enrolment Report, Attendance Report, and Training Completion and Records of Assessment Report containing your personal data will be retained for five (5) years. Official receipts and other accounting records will be retained for ten (10) years. After your training, your personal data and training records will be kept in digital form in a secure database for historical and other legitimate purposes. You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, as well as to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. Non-Disclosure Policy

All training information received from the applicants for training shall be treated with the utmost confidentiality. As such, trainee information shall only be used for official transactions, and shall, in no way, be divulged to unauthorized personnel.

Registration and Liability Waiver

I have freely agreed to take part in the training course(s) conducted by Magsaysay Learning Resources, Inc. (MLRI) and I have not been forced, intimidated, or directed to take part in any training activities against my will.

I shall strictly obey, observe, and follow all applicable rules and guidelines, and the directions and instructions of MLRI personnel and/or instructors assigned to supervise MLRI Trainees, throughout the duration of the course. In the event that I violate any such rules, guidelines, directions, or instructions, I shall indemnify and hold MLRI and its directors, officer, instructors, employees, agents, and supplier from any claim, action, damages, costs, losses, and liabilities of any kind or nature arising from or in connection with the activity during which the violation occurred.

I understand and assume all the risks normally incident to the nature of the training activities in which I take part and agree, to the fullest extent allowed by law, to hold MLRI and its directors, officers, instructors, employees, agents, and suppliers free and harmless from any claim, action, damages, costs, and liabilities of any kind or nature arising from any injury, loss or damage I may sustain or cause in the course of or in connection with such activities.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, MLRI and its directors, officers, instructors, employees, agents, and suppliers shall not be liable for any claim, action, damage, cost, or loss arising from or in connection with my participation in the training, save only where the same is proved to be directly and solely attributable to their willful acts or gross negligence.
